چکیده
Mobile apps have become indispensable for daily life, not only individuals but also companies/organizations that offer their services digitally. Inherited by the mobility of devices, there are no limitations regarding locations or conditions in which being used. For example, can be used where internet connection is available. Therefore, offline-first a highly desired quality mobile apps. Accordingly, inappropriate handling connectivity issues and miss-implementation good practices lead to bugs crashes occurrences reduce confidence users on apps' quality. In this paper, we present first study Eventual Connectivity (ECn) exhibited Android apps, manually inspecting 971 scenarios related 50 open-source We found 304 instances ECn (6 per app, average) organized taxonomy 10 categories. majority use messages providing correct information user about status improper external libraries/apps check delegated. Studying and Enabling Reuse in Android Mobile Apps
In the recent years, studies of design and programming practices in mobile development are gaining more attention from researchers. Several such empirical studies used Android applications (paid, free, and open source) to analyze factors such as size, quality, dependencies, reuse, and cloning. Most of the studies use executable files of the apps (APK files), instead of source code because of av...

متن کاملSecurity Concerns in Android mHealth Apps
Mobile Health (mHealth) applications lie outside of regulatory protection such as HIPAA, which requires a baseline of privacy and security protections appropriate to sensitive medical data. However, mHealth apps, particularly those in the app stores for iOS and Android, are increasingly handling sensitive data for both professionals and patients. This paper presents a series of three studies of...
متن کاملDetecting Privacy Leaks in Android Apps
The number of Android apps have grown explosively in recent years and the number of apps leaking private data have also grown. It is necessary to make sure all the apps are not leaking private data before putting them to the app markets and thereby a privacy leaks detection tool is needed. We propose a static taint analysis approach which leverages the control-flow graph (CFG) of apps to detect...
متن کاملOn Ad Library Updates in Android Apps
With more than 90% of mobile apps today being free-to-download, advertisement within apps is one of the key business models to generate revenue. Advertisements are served through the embedding of specialized code, i.e., ad libraries. Unlike other types of libraries, developers cannot ignore new versions of the embedded ad libraries or new ad libraries without risking a loss in revenue. However,...
